Contemporary Trends for Bathrooms in 2018

Smaller bathrooms that are efficient and make the most of their space making it functional as well as beautiful.

A big change we are seeing is replacing the tub with a large, Heavy, Glass, Shower Enclosure. This creates a spatial dimension that gives more depth to a bathroom and adds to the minimalist look.

People are using floor to ceiling tiles in their showers to enlarge the space optically.

We are seeing more Glass elements being used in the bathroom such as glass shelves in the shower or floating glass shelves for organization. These items enhance a more open look. Mirrors can be used to make the space look bigger and create a very custom look.

In terms of furniture for your bathroom vanities are taking on a more of a floating look or have delicate legs. The same floating or wall mounted look for toilets as well.

“In the houses we live in today it is important to note that there are only a few spaces we literally dwell-in. The bathroom is an absolute type of space in which we frequent even more than our bedrooms. That being said, why not make this space a retreat rather than just a necessity. The return on investment for a complete bathroom remodel is phenomenal and even a face lift to a given bathroom can produce a huge impact as well as increasing the appeal of your home.” Rick Belanger with Genesis Renovations
